Thor wanders around. Thor finds some dudes to beat up. Thor finds a woman to sleep with. Thor finds a cave with ghosts. So, what's Thor really up to? Well, ladies and gentlemen. He is conquering.

    "A female? What's a female?"

This one came with an introduction by Charles Band explaining how his Grindhouse Series, how I accessed this film via the Grindhouse DvD, was conceptualized when Band obtained a smattering of old unmastered films on tape as a way of monetizing the films via a new DvD release. It was interesting because I had no idea Charles Band, Boss-Master of Full Moon Pictures, had any connection to this film. It seems it was his actions that have enabled modern viewers to watch this title and countless others through his distribution companies. Not that this film is great. It's actually really weird, which is coming from a guy who has been watching a lot of weird…

This is a local theater rendition of Conan the Barbarian. Completely shameless in what it rips off, and absolutely hilarious in its presentation. I can't say there is anything resembling cinematic value, but there are some good laughs.

Cheap fantasy trash that struggles from the start.

A beefy dude wanders around, occasionally getting into fights and or women.

A film that just sort of ends. Truly one of the shittiest 80s fantasy films going.

    Film #249 of 2023.

You're tellin' me that I watched this and forgot to log it?
    Psh.

    Thanks, Full Moon Features!

Part of their Grindhouse Collection. I've considered adding the films from this sub label to the FM list. Should I?!

I was denied a campy Norse mythology movie and got yet another Italian Conan knock off, not like i wouldn’t enjoy that but this was like very not good. Charming but bad. Probably the best Thor movie I’ve seen

French dubbed ultra cheap Italian knock off. Loved those flicks as a kid.
    VHS.

I'm often dismayed/put off by the slick calculation of modern cinema.

Being a little rough around the edges myself, I sometimes yearn for the rustic style of improvised, unprofessional and inept filmmaking of yesteryear.

On cue, up steps Thor the Conqueror. While technically crap, cheap as chips and having only the most rudimentary grasp of the basics in acting, plot, pacing and production design, I obviously enjoyed it.

I dont think it's necessary to go into the particulars. You just need to trust me on this one.

    Watched on YouTube.

BOAH! Ein Fest für Trashfreunde.

I don’t mean to diminish current-day sexism in any way, but misogyny in the 80s was really something special.

This movie is so laughably funny.

Bruno Minniti has the body but his hair is a mess. The rest of the cast looks like they could have used more of mamma mia's pasta to bulk up.

There are not a lot of dialog in this other then from the Merlin-wannabe who narrates using random big words that mean very little, and who is wearing shoulder pads that seem like they wider then the person is tall.

Maria Romano is the true star as she brings some heat to the screen in her scenes. Maria Romano as a slave girl at the beginning displays some ample cleavage.

The weapons in this seem like they are castoffs from a Gwar concert, which…

  • Review by Marty McKee ★★

Cannon actually got this wretched Italian barbarian flick into American theaters. It just goes to show how hungry moviegoers were for sword-and-sorcery shenanigans for the year or two after CONAN THE BARBARIAN was a big hit, though it’s unlikely THOR THE CONQUEROR played to crowded houses. Like most of the barbarian films coming out of Italy, THOR makes no sense, so following the story is not worth the brain power. Basically, as an audience member, you’re just hanging in there through the dull stuff and hoping the weird stuff will be worth your time. Just the opening sequence has an officious narrator, a woman giving birth behind a tree, a wizard vanishing in a puff of smoke, a dude with…
